Praise & Prayers from November 2011 Newsletter:

Praises:
Successful marriage class taught November 14th-18th
New class on spiritual growth has started (6 Saturdays for 6 hours each)
Ministered in an old age home about 2 hours from Odessa, but very close to one of the new orphanages where they hope to minister
Their daughter is doing much better.
They got the money for the van into the country without paying any fees, etc.
They received 13 instruments to be given to the orphanages as well as many toys.

Prayer notes:
Still looking for the right van.  Pray for wisdom and discernment (and time) to choose the right one.
The boys' home that they have worked in for the last 5 years on a regular basis has closed its doors to them.  Please pray for a change of heart of the director.  He is a Christian.
They are still having visa and registration issues.  There is a new and very long and complicated process to be registered.
The Pregnancy Care Center is progressing on schedule.  It has been a year since the planning started and it will be several months before they are ready to open.  Please pray for that ministry.

September Newsletter from Ted & Debra Welch in Ukraine

Dear Prayer Partners,
I just wanted to update you real quick about what is happening in our lives.  Due to the health of our daughter, Sharon, Debra and I have delayed our return to Ukraine.  I am now scheduled to return to Ukraine in the middle of September and Debra will return the middle of October, Lord willing.  Please pray for Sharon that she will improve soon for our time here in the States is running out.  (*Note - Debra shared with us in July that Sharon was experiencing extreme anxiety and fear of leaving her house.)
We praise the Lord that we only need around $400 to have the complete purchase price for our van.  Please continue to pray for this.  (*Note - they have now received the entire purchase price for the van.)  Ted would like to take the money with him when he returns to Ukraine on September 18th.  Oleg told us recently that he has been going to two or three orphanages a week in August and September.  The van will greatly help these efforts.  Remember that we would appreciate hearing if someone is planning on giving.  Our e-mail is  tedwelch2@hotmail.com and our telephone number is 515-318-2689.  Oh, how we appreciate our "generous donor" who offered to match any fund we raised up to $5,000.  This has greatly helped us.
We are also a bit concerned about our visa situation.  Ukraine is changing their visa requirements and one of the things that has been done is to make all current visas issued before September 10 invalid.  Our visa was issued before September 10 and there is not time to get it renewed before I leave on September 18th.  If worse comes to worst, I will have to enter Ukraine on a 90 day visitor's visa and have to leave when it is up.  I will be able to teach my two courses at the Bible Institute during this time.  The one that was issued to us this summer was for a year but it was before September 10th.  We don't know how all of this is going to play out, so please pray.
The other thing that we are facing is that next summer when we come home we will not be allowed to return to Ukraine unless we have raised $650 in additional support.  Please begin now to pray for this need.  That is a lot of support and we do not want to stay for a long extended time in the States next year trying to raise this amount.  Our temporary plans are to visit non-supporting churches from July to December.
Please pray for Mike and Elle, our Ukrainian friends in Des Moines.  I have gone fishing with him, took him to church and share the gospel and some materials about why we believe the Bible.  He told me that it is going to be hard for him to believe.  Please pray for Mike to be saved.  We are hoping that through him and Elle that a Russian-speaking church in Des Moines might be started.

Sincerely in Christ,
Ted and Debra Welch
